Before installation

  • Confirm the current project information and foundation layout.
  • Review access, levels, underground-service information and site constraints.
  • Coordinate screw positions with the structure above.
  • Establish whether trial installation or testing is required.

On site

  • Set out the agreed positions and working levels.
  • Mechanically install while observing the ground response.
  • Address obstructions or inconsistent response rather than hiding them.
  • Set heads and connections for the next structural stage.

Evidence and handover

Useful project evidence can include layout photographs, installed positions, connection details, observations and testing information where applicable.

The handover record should reflect what was actually installed and observed, without turning indicative information into unsupported certification.

RESPONSIBLE USE

The sequence varies with the project. Service locating, structural design, engineering or specialist testing may sit outside or alongside installation.
